It’s been a long unpublished road lately. Billy has slaved away in the bathroom on this remodeling project and it’s finally paying off. I wasn’t able to gut the bathroom entirely like I wanted to but it has transformed entirely over the past six weeks. We are almost finished too! Thus far we’ve repainted the entire set of rooms in a nice calming spa blue pallet. Rather than ripout the tile floor we chose to restain the grout from a dirty white to a nice medium grey. Also we took out the giant 80’s style mirror and Hollywood style lights, and replaced them with two separate framed mirrors with recessed lights and pendants. All the fixtures in the bathroom were previously chrome, but now they are oil-rubbed bronze (very nice if I do say so myself). All we have left to finish is the built in cabinet over the toilet. Well that and replacing the door knobs; but we are going to replace all the door knobs in the house and at $25 each it’s an expensive endeavor all on it’s own.

As soon as everything is finished I’ll take pictures for everyone that hasn’t or can’t come over to see it in person. If you all had been wondering where we’ve both been lately, now you know!

I don’t know why I’m so smitten with this song but I absolutely love it!

Today we had our big family Christmas with the relatives and it was pretty good. There were a few missed faces but I’m glad I got to see everyone. My mom’s side of the family is very large so we always try and get everyone together around the holiday, but still giving them time to spend on christmas with their own families. We’ll spend Christmas day with my dads side of the family like usual. The dog is asleep, I think she had too much turkey; haha. Poor kitties hid under the bed all day, which is normal for them. Bailey has his neuter appointment in the morning, so he’s sure to not be very merry for Christmas. My grandma gave all of her children a two and a half pound box of assorted chocolates; ironically most of them are diabetic. Football has been on all day in the background, and I have no clue about any of it. I haven’t hardly typed anything and I’m already losing my concentration and starting to ramble on. I better stop now before I get too far off track.

So over the past two weeks we have gained a new addition to our little family. Billy discovered a kitten from the litter that the stray had in our backyard swimming in the pool. It was making laps around because it couldn’t get out and it was running out of will quickly. He was able to scoop it out with the net and brought it into the house. We nursed it back to health and dried it out, but the little thing is just so cute we had to keep him. He appears to be a Himalayan (long haired, colored like a Siamese, with short legs). His eyes are the prettiest blue color, and I hope they stay that way. It has taken us two weeks now to decide on a name for the little guy. After much debate we decided on Bailey; mostly because he’s the color of Bailey’s Irish Creme. I wish he’d stay a tiny kitten forever but I know he won’t.

August 8th – August ? I honestly don’t know when we are coming home yet; I just know we finally decided that we are leaving on the eighth. Look out redneck riveria, here we come!

I expected that train of thought to go further than that, guess I was mistaken. I honestly haven’t meant to be so distant from my blog. I’ve sat infront of marsedit several times, I see the blogpress icon on my phone all the time. Hell even my homepage in firefox is my blog URL! It’s just everytime I’ve tried to sit down and write my mind goes blank. The best thoughts come in the bathtub, and I’m just too afraid of my phone going for a swim to risk it.

It isn’t just the blog I’ve been distant from, I’ve neglected people in general lately too. Not so much on purpose, but there is just a lot of things going on at home lately. It seems as though the few free moments I have are when people want to plan something and the future is so sketchy I just can’t plan. I hate looking like all the flakes I hate but I seriously have other shit to do. Just because I’m not doing anything at the moment doesn’t mean I want to get up, shower, shave, drive across the city to meetup for an hour.

Ugh I’m so tired of trying to make new friends too. People just don’t get it, just because I’ll chat with you for five minutes online doesn’t mean I want to meet you in person. And what part of “I have a boyfriend” makes anyone think sexual banter is an appropriate greeting, much less a conversation starter. “Other Person: Whatsup?” “Me: Driving to my friends house” “Other Person: Ooh are y’all gonna fuck?” WTF is that? Why would someone even go there? The same person messaged me online two days later asking what I was doing, I replied “laying in bed” and they come back with “naked?” no fucker I’m not naked, I don’t sleep naked, and I don’t see why it’s any of your concern! People suck. Why is it so hard to make friends with people based on common interest? The few people that are my friends can certainly attest that “sex” is not on my list of common interests.

This seems to be going more and more downhill the more I type… Let’s see if I can come up with something positive that’s happened recently (besides this future run to Florida).

Oh! My new mirrors came the other day. Paint came out fantastic too! I installed them on the car, and Billy did the wiring. Everything works except the heating elements, but it was getting late that night and we kept blowing the fuse so we decided to come back and attack that after some rest. Hooray for small victories right? Here I’ll attach a picture. I know everyone has been hearing me bitch about UPS being so slow at delivering them.

You will have to excuse my car (especially the wheels) for being dirty, it’s rained everyday here lately. The car came with plain power mirrors, and the heated/folding/signal mirrors were part of a $6000 option package I didn’t want. I paid $300 for these from the dealer, plus paint. Not a bad savings if I do say so myself *toots horn*.

I also appologize for the image quality and the formatting of them in the post, the whole thing was done from my phone. I’ll fix the markup when I’m infront of my laptop.

I think I’ve taken up enough of your time with my blabbering; more to follow later.

Maybe I’m out on a limb here, or maybe the rest of the world will actually agree with me. While getting dressed today my phone chirps saying I have a text message. Now this in itself is peculular because it was 10am and for one I’m NEVER awake that early, and two who knowing that would message me? I ignored it at that time since I was in the bathroom. Now as I’m finally dressed and all about thirty minutes later I finally get to my phone to check it. I was mistaken it wasn’t a text message persay but an AOL IM forward since I show as mobile when I’m not infront of my computer.

Not to segway too off tangent here but I do have my IM forwarding setup because I want people to be able to find me. I’m not that addicted to AOL trust me. If I didn’t want to receive them on my phone I would disable it. That being disclosed let’s jump back on topic.

This message was from this guy, whom I’ve never met that lives several hundred miles away that I’m sure I’ll never meet. I don’t generally message him because well, sometimes he’s annoying and mostly I just don’t have anything to say to him. So as conversation starting goes 9 times out of 10 he messages me. The problem lies in that he only messages me once every three months or so (almost to the ‘what’s the point’ phase). What ticked me off is that not only did he probably message me this morning only because no one else was online, but he did it knowing good and damn well I was mobile. Didn’t have the decency to do it any other time when I was actually logged in. To me that’s basically saying “you’re my last resort in someone to talk to, and even though we haven’t talked in months I’m desperate enough to message you while your not even really online.” Hell he knows I’d generally be asleep, ugh WTF!
